I have to say, this stand is quite a value for the price. It's BIG, the components are chunky and seem to be of decent quality, and I'm not afraid to put relatively heavy lighting gear on it. I'm not using mono blocs or heavy AC powered studio light or anything, just multiple flash strobes and modifiers - soft boxes, brollies, etc, but I have no fears about putting a good bit of weight on this stand. J.K.
Highly recommend this stand to any photographer with studio lights that want to get the lights up and away from model/subject. The boom arm telescopes and is very easy to manipulate. The bag can hold anything you want to use as counterweights and is of heavy duty nylon and great quality. I put some dive weights in there and this does the trick more than adequately. The stand base is wide and give excellent support. The swivel joint holding the boom arm has so far worked
beautifully
and is also very well built. My only issue is that when you loosen the joint to move change the angle, you end up risking your boom arm sliding back or forwards depending on how your setup is balanced. So this is more my fault and in a well balanced system, shouldn't be an issue.

I needed a boom to get my key light up high and having my friend hold a normal stand up in the air just didnt seem like a long term solution so I bought this boom. I really didnt want to spend a ton of money and since I'm only using small speedlights at the moment I figured this boom would be perfect, and I was right. It's more then capable of holding a speedlight and 57" brolly over a model or group and I haven't had any problems with it to date. Some of the clamps needed to be tightened so that my light didnt swing down under the weight but after that small adjustment everything works great. I would still suggest having an assistant handy if your shooting in moderate wind with a big modifier of course just to make sure nothing gets broken. Good product, good price, buy it! JAKE
I was expecting the quality of this stand to match my other cheap light stands BUT I WAS WRONG! It is built like a beast! I am very impressed my the quality of this stand. It extends extremely high and the supports are about an inch think! Definitely more than worth the money! I may even buy a second one!
