    This is an 18

    century or possibly earlier European snuff box.
    The top of the box is ornately decorated with mythological figures in silver and brass (no silver marks). The lid and underside are missing some silver pieces (see detailed photos).
    The lid functions perfectly but has had old repairs to the external hinge.
    Inlaid snuff boxes of this early period are rare and when found are rarely in perfect condition.
