Features and informations about this pen:
You are bidding for a Rotring Rapidograph stylograph from the 1960ties. The factory Tiku GmbH ( Tinten Kuli ) was founded by Wilhelm Riepe in 1928. The Tintenkuli is a writing instrument that works with a piston system. The frontsection contains a a needle of platinum / iridium which wents to a little metal tube. If you put the pen on to the paper the needle will be pushed back and the ink begins to flow. Most of this pens have a needle that stucks in that metal tube. This comes from rust. Other pens have lost their colours and begin to get translucent, like a demonstrator, but thats only a material fault. You will find that problem very often on the 1950ties models. The pen in the auction hasn´t got this problem, its still complete black. Its the Rapidograph model with a No. 3 needle in it. In the 1960ties Rotring has sold this model in a lot of different needle sizes. The needle in the tube is in working condition and the mechanism also is in working condition. The red decorative band is engraved with Rapidograph and the shaft additional is marked with No. 3.
