snuff box Rhodonite with gold and diamond hinges and clasp

Magnificent antique Rhodonite snuff box with solid gold clasp and hinges set with diamonds. The box measures 4 inches by 2 inches by 7/8 inch tall. It appears to be made of one piece of rhodonite the has been hollowed out to form the box and lid. Please examine the photos to see how the hinges and clasp are completely encrusted with diamonds. A French lady sold this to me in my jewelry store 45 years ago but she did not know where the box was made as she had in her it .
